John and Cher Anderson Donate $1.3 Million Crystal to Utah University

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Nov. 8, 2005 - Christmas came early to the Provo, Utah campus of Brigham Young University when John and Cher Anderson gifted a $1.3 million quartz crystal to the campus geology department last September. The 4,300-pound crystal, known as "Dream Master," is now on display at the university's Carl F. Eyring Science Center.

"God created amazing things for us to enjoy," said Isagenix International Founder and Formulator John Anderson, "Dream Master sure is one of them."

"Dream Master" Unveiling

The crystal and its display were covered in a large black robe in preparation for its unveiling on November 8, 2005. The Andersons attended the event, as well as the University Dean, department chairs, and many geology students.

"It's gorgeous to look at!" said LDS Foundation Liaison David Bonner. "Students will appreciate its beauty and the geological significance behind it. We sincerely appreciate John and Cher for all of their amazing contributions to our campus."

Bonner said getting the crystal into the building wasn't easy. "We used a crane to lift the crystal from a truck and placed it gently on the front porch of its new home. From there, we had to manually wheel it into the lobby."

The crystal's prominent location allows students to enjoy its incredible beauty while eating lunch in the Pendulum Court, next to the Eyring Science Center.

A Two-Part History

Dream Master had broken into two halves in the Arkansas Ouachita Mountain Range millions of years ago. Ron Coleman from Coleman Mines discovered the first crystal half and had later found the second half on another exploration. The reunion of both great crystals makes the full cluster 90 inches long, 54 inches wide, and 36 inches high. A custom-made display was built to hold the two halves just far enough apart to present how each half fits together and how the crystal grew further along the line where it had fractured.

"Our geologists were insistent that we keep the fracture in place," says Bonner, "so that the students could look and see the crystal's story along with the formation of the new crystals forming on the division."

The Ouachita Mountain Range is the source of many of the world's largest quartz crystals, as well as the location where Isagenix sources natural spring water is drawn for Ionix Supreme, the nutrient-rich drink for peak performance and body balance.

This 4,300-pound crystal was donated by Isagenix Founder John Anderson to Brigham Young University.
